6–8With a grown-up alongside

Base projects work great as a shared activity. Skip the games for now — the reading and the timer get frustrating before 8. We'll happily say so.

8–10Solo building begins

Base and Boost solo, Buzz Trace as the first game. Reactor Rescue can wait a year — or play it as a team with a parent.

10–14The sweet spot
